This CO2 extract from Sea Buckthorn Berry is an excellent antioxidant and free radical scavenger. It is rich in the essential fatty acids and has been used traditionally in skin care for hundreds of years. Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil's unique composition with high natural tocopherols, carotenoids, and fatty acids is particularly useful for skin problems that require cell regeneration---burns, eczema, wounds, and anti-aging formulas. This bioactive oil will also offer some protection against the harmful effects of UV radiation. This lipophilic extract is recommended for all skin types, but is especially useful in formulas for mature skin.
Sea Buckthorn regulates hormones, as well as normalizing sebaceous secretions, blood chemistry, endocrine balance and other systems, notably the skin, that can be affected by hormone imbalances

The women, its always about the women. The women search the savannah lands under every shea tree for the nuts.The women carry it on their heads, kilometers to their homes. The women dry, sort, crush, cook and seperate the shea nuts to make your shea butter. Your probably a woman.
Thats how and why I operate. I returned recently from 2 years living in Ghana, West Africa while being a United States Peace Corps Volunteer. Living among the people it was was easy to see that the women do more then their share of the work for little or no recognition from their fathers/brothers/husbands. Women in Ghana, I cant speak for all Africa, dont value themselves, its never been an option to value your self.
What I do is buy directly from a womens co-op in Ghana. Way up in the savannah lands of Ghana. When you get up first thing in the morning and the suns coming up you feel like your in the opening scene of "The Lion King". Except instead of signing animals you see women on their way to farm and markets to start the work day with a hot meal for their families.
I import directly form these women, I have tought them about simply business dictums such as : Getting paid for the work you do and valuing your time. I have taught them about export packaging for the US and Ive bought them some scales to properly weigh their product instead of using the local calabash for a scale. Most importantly, they get paid fairly for their shea, they get paid for packaging and labelling and then learn that they CAN do business.
As well as shea butter Ive taken a homemade, traditional West African soap, "black soap" and taught another family, all women of course, to press and package and it looks good. Another family, my counterparts and best friends Kwame Charles & Ester Kumah, are working on trying to figure out how to make mango butter and start their own business using a local commodity thats in abundance.
That, in a nut shell (shea nut shell, perhaps) is Savannah Black. Its why I started this business and why I want to do business. The women who make Savannah Black shea butter, who make the black soap and make future products are getting helped.
