Are you expecting a gift from a friend or loved on this year? Are you expected to give one back? Have you lost your job or loss in income?
It's a blessing to have all the family together at Christmas. It's not about the gift, it's about being together, love, family, and friends.
If you are not able to give a gift this year we have a simple solution for that. Give your love, kindness, and friendship. I personally don't prefer gifts at Christmas I prefer to give gifts which include my talents, baked goods, tea time with a friend, or Christmas caroling.
A blessing came to us over 2,000 years ago. His name was Jesus. That's my blessing every year. Give this same gift to your loved ones or friends and tell them about the love of our Savior Jesus Christ.
If your skeptical about this Jesus thing, so are many others. I challenge you to take a closer look into this Jesus. A DVD special called "The Star of Bethlehem" is available at your local library or on the Discover channel. Rick Larson shows us how the Star of Bethlehem was so bright all those years ago and proves there was a man name Jesus.
Now I would tell you more about the DVD, but that would interfere with the challenge. I get questions all the time about Jesus, why I believe, and why do I tell everyone about Him on our website, blog, face book, twitter, newsletter, and emails? Because I want to tell you to know about his love, blessings, forgiveness, grace, mercy and compassion and his ability to forgive our sins when we become aware through the law that we sinned. Hes not a mean God like some say, but a loving merciful God who is with you always.
I am a perfectionist and my friends can say that, especially about my floors. They have to be clean all the time as well as the sink, counter tops, etc. Grandma always said that cleanliness is the way to Godliness. But I am not perfect. I have many flaws/sins and I rely on God to help me. We are all sinners and once we accept that we are a sinner, repent with a pure heart and God is there to forgive you!
God has taught me to be patient, kind, and well take it easy. During the Holiday Season, Don't stress He has it all under control.
And that comes to the meaning of this story. Christmas doesn't have to be perfect or who has the best gift, giving gifts, or even buying for everyone in the neighborhood. It's about the blessing that was give to us so many years ago, Jesus.
Don't you want to get to know him? He was born for you and me. To die on a cross for our sins, diseases, and iniquities. He gave us the biggest gift anyone could ever give anyone. His life. His life.
So if you lost your job or income has changed & can't give a gift this year, then tell someone about Jesus. It's the greatest gift of ALL!
