Taylor Made Herbs and Aromatherapy started in 1997, by Christy Teter, Naturopath (Clayton College of Natural Health) , Master Herbalist, Bachelor and Master Degree in Natural Health, and Aromatherapist in the heart of Port Republic, Virginia (close to Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Mountains).
We live on almost 7 wooded acre preservation that is dedicated to our organic chemical-free botanical herb garden. This is where we grow medicinal perennial and annual herbs that are used in Taylor Made Herbs and Aromatherapy line of products. In the spring, summer, and fall I am out in my organic garden planting, weeding, mulching, harvesting, and drying herbs and flowers for the use in herbal oil infusions and other herbal preparations for the products. We grow herbs such as st. john's wort, calendula, comfrey, elecampane, lobelia, garlic, valerian, mugwort, self heal, echinacea, chamomile, lavender, milk thistle, coltsfoot, mullein, burdock, nettle, marshmallow, white sage, skullcap, elderberry, hydrangea, hawthorne, red raspberry, yarrow, motherwort, catnip, yarrow, and many many more. Endangered wild herbs, like lady's slippers, indian pipe, blood root, black cohosh, blue cohosh, goldenseal, ginseng, and many others. And other plants like the "Whorled Pogonia"
We take pictures of herbs that we grow, herbs that we have found in the Shenandoah Valley, My Mom and Dad's house, that ties into the Shenandoah National Park (land preservation for Orchids (Whorled Pogonia and Lady's Slipper's) and in West Virginia. Check out our Herb Farm Photo's.
My husband grows Shiitake Mushrooms on logs in the woods. He just added 1,500 new spores! We will be selling those each year. He and I are a team, growing herbs, gathering, harvesting, and making medicinal products.
How Taylor Made Herbs and Aromatherapy got started....
Christy starting making an "Herbal Skin Salve",years ago that became the root for "Taylor Made Herbs and Aromatherapy". After having such great results, healing a wide variety of skin issues, She started making other natural chemical free organic products. As a Naturopath, Herbalist, Aromatherapist, mother, and sole proprietorship of Taylor Made Herbs and Aromatherapy, LLC , has allowed her to share the knowledge and wisdom with deep respect for nature.
All products are my own handcrafted original recipe and formulations. I create, bottle, label, package, and ship your order myself. Everything is made in small batches, using fresh organically grown or wildcrafted herbs and ingredients to ensure the highest quality and integrity. We only use stainless steel, glass, ceramic, and wooden cooking equipment or utensils to make our products. I make sure that all finished products are at room temperature before entering containers. Now that's a traditional handcrafted company!

In an effort to keep creating new and innovative products, I will always be a student of herbalism and aromatherapy, continuing my education through many books, annual herb conferences, and herbal programs. I am finishing up a program with Dr. Tieraona Low Dog, M.D, AHG, Medical Herbalist, who is the President of Complementary and Alternative Medicine board, appointed by President Clinton.
