We use 100% natural preservatives such as Grapefruit seed extract, Potassium Sorbate, Food grade citric acid, Rosemary extract, pure un-diluted essential oils, natural stablization from nutrient, cold pressed oils, vitamins and minerals found naturally within our pure certified organic and organic ingredients, and Vitamin E.

Since we use Natural preservative found in nature and within raw materials used our products should be used within a shorter period of time compared to other products using "Propylene glycol, Meth-Parabens, or Petro-Chemicals". Those toxic ingredients are obtained from anti-freeze and we choose to lessen the shelf life my using natural God given preservatives than harsh toxic enviromental and hazardous preservatives.

Herbal Salves

• 12-24 months+ is kept in a cool area in the house, our Herbal Salves will last longer than the date listed. If the salve becomes liquified, place in fridge for a few minutes to harden. Take out and use as needed. Heat can cause the product to liquify (shipping, bathroom, or heated homes).

Organic Facial Exfoliants

• 3-6 months Why such a shorter shelf life? Our exfoliants are made with 100% certified organic and organic enzymes. Enzymes are crucial enzymes that loose their shelf life in a short period of time. Certified Organic CO2 extracts used in our exfoliant are steamed distilled and fragile to heat and light. They to have a shorter shelf life if not handled properly. If kept in a cool area, away from direct sunlight, tightly closed lid and always us a spatula to obtain the product from the jar it can lengthen the shelf life.

Organic Facial Masks

• 6-12 months If kept in a cool area, away from direct sunlight, tightly closed lid and always us a spatula or spoon to obtain the product from the bottle it can lengthen the shelf life. Our certified organic herbs are grown without pesticides. Herbs if kept at room temperature can last a year long time. Facial clays are the same. But pure un-diluted essential oils, Certified Organic Co2 extracts and Organic Enzyme fibers don't. The are live raw ingredient and fragile. Please keep the lid tight on the bottle and apply cap immediately after opening.

The Supercritical CO2 extraction process allows for selectivity of volatile or lipophilic compounds by varying the pressure used in processing.

The environmentally friendly Supercritical CO2 process has been compared to other extraction methods and has been found to be superior in a number of ways – no solvent residues, no heavy metals or other impurities that are typically found in other extracts. In addition, CO2 Extracts have been found to be more nearly identical to the natural plant compounds with little, if any, chemical change after processing.

Our shea butter (butyrosperum parkii) is unrefined and organic produced in Ghana, West Africa. Made by a womens co-op in the traditional , hand crafted way, our shea butter is the real shea butter. No detergents have been used to refine it (hexane is one of the ingredients used to refine shea butter, it is also used in commercial diesel fuel too!!!) all natural from the Savannah Lands of Ghana

Why unrefined and cold pressed raw ingredients? Because cold processed oils are filtered at low temperatures still leaving behind the raw ingredient we are looking for to use in Taylor Made skin care products. Un-refined products such as shea, cocoa, and mango butters are not filtered compared to refined using chemical agents to do so and striping all the vital nutrients.

Our Shea butter is 100% raw un-refined organic and fair trade. We made sure of that! Some other shea butters are extracted with hexane or other solvents, chemically bleached and deodorized, and treated with preservatives such as BHA (butylated hydroxyanisole) or BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene). A product that undergoes these processes would not qualify for USDA organic certification.

Customers ask me all the time, "Why is you Shea Butter tan colored and other companies white?" Well it's refined and has no nutritional value. Phenoxyethanol is a natural preservative derived from grapefruit. It is an alcohol-free, paraben-free, glycol-free, formaldehyde-free. It optimized protection against microbial growth from bacteria and yeast All preservatives are scrutinized, including grapefruit seed extract, in which we have found very potent and safe. We decided to use phenoxyethanol, because it would extend our shelf life a little longer than with grapefruit seed extract.

Potassium sorbate: is used to inhibit mold and yeast. Potassium sorbate is non-irritating and non-sensitizing. It is a natural and safe preservative.

Absolutely NOT! As mainstream customers become more aware of the demand for Natural Organic skin care products they realize that those harmful preservatives and agents cause diseases, breathing problems, skin issues such as dermatitis, psoriasis, eczmea, etc, cancer, and overload of liver wtih estrogen.

Pure un-diluted essential oils is the only thing we use! Pure essential oils are plant derived, plant based products that are steamed distilled (natural process). Fragrance oils are chemically manufactured and have been linked to allergies, dermatitis, eczema and other skin related problems. You will NEVER find fragrance oils in ANY of our products! We are truly use a hand made aromatherpay approach to natural skin care issues. We don't have to use fragrances to cover up presevative(s) odor.

Aromatherapy defined - If something is labelled "aromatherapy" and it contains fragrance oils, it is not truly aromatherapy. A products with essential oils derived from flowers, leaves, resins, barks, roots, twigs, seeds, berries, rind, and/or rhizomes of a plant is truly aromatherapy. Essential oils are volatile (they wll evaporate over time), unlike synthetic fragrance oils which do not break down and that is why cloths containing perfumes will smell like that for a long time. Essential oils have medicinal properties relating to the chemical constituents of the plant.

We do use Turmeric (natural yellow color), Alkanet herb (natural purple - red color), and Chlorophyll (natural green color) to tint some skin care products such as Soothing Rose facial moisturizer (alkanet) and Chlorophyll (Cucumber and Lemon facial care line). All natural organic tints without coloring the skin.

Our products contain NO ingredients derived in any way of animals. We do use raw un-processed bees wax in our herbal salve benefiting them with natures nautral nutrients from the wax. Our bee keepers love their bees and doing everything in their power to sustain the abundance of bees in our area and every where else. Neva and Glen have been gathering honey and beeswax for over 20 years and see the bees as a pet or child. These bees think their hive is a bed and breakfeast when Glen and Neva are taking care of them. They use NO pesticides or insecticides on the property for several years. The honey and wax is not filtered. The wax is heated at a low temperature to insured the nutrient value is still abundant in the wax once I receive it. I have to say, when I get a fresh batch of bees wax, the smell is heavenly. Now I know what John the Baptist only ate honey and locust too.

Is it power lines, cell phones/towers, or pesticides killing bees? It's not the bee keepers.

Saponification is the process by which natural plant oils become pure soap when combined with alkaline water. A castile soap made properly made in the traditional kettly process contains no soap, water, and glycerine when it's done. The castiles that we hand craft are cured for five weeks for mildness. It is said that the process was first observed occurring naturally in ancient Rome at mount Sappo, hence the name saponification.

Taylor Made prefers to use glass, but we don't want you to get hurt while in the shower, tub, or giving a bath to your little one. Glass is prefered, but for safety reasons, we choose to use plastic bottles that are 100% recycleable, PET, as close to glass as your can get. We never use Vinyl, because of the impact on the enviroment.

Please recycle and remember you can use the containers for indoor and outdoor materials, screws, nuts, bolts, mixing ingredients, storing play dough, storing paint, sand, crafts, and more. Think big, recycle!

Straining and then preparing it for the finshed product of a salve. So it takes several weeks to make the "Herbal Skin Salve". Our facial creams are unique too. Organic herbal extracts are distilled before preparing the cream. Once the extract is done which takes several days to several weeks, is then added to the cream in which we make from scratch. Facial cleanser and toners are the same.

No worries! Heat from shipping (during the summer months), can cause herbal salves, shea butter, or whipped cocoa and shea butter to become a little liquified. Everything is fixable and your product did not use it's nutrient or property value. Just place it in the fridge for 10-15 minutes. Take out and stir, then place in the fridge until it becomes solid again.

Taylor Made Organics continually refines our production systems to esure that wha'ts in the bottles is every bit as safe as it is effective and wonderful. So what means do we take to make our products sanitary?

1. We only use stainless steel, glass, ceramic, and wooden cooking equipment or utensils to make our products.
2. We never heat our products in a microwave
3. We santize/sterilize our equipment in safe and effective cleaners to rid bacteria, fungus, yeast, and other microbes.
4. Every ingredient is assigned a lot number. This identifies who it came from and the product consistency.
5. Batch worksheets (foundation to every product) give clear information about each product, ingredient, ingredient amounts, weights, blending technique, sterilization, and other relevant information.
6. Every batch requires a batch number and a sample taken to go back on in case a batch changes.
7. Every hydrous product (contain water) must be tested for potential mold, fungus, yeast, and/or bacteria. We want to make sure our preservatives are working effectively.
8. Our facility is temperature controlled. We make sure your product(s) was kept at a room temperature to ensure the product does not go rancide, mold, melt, or loose it properties.
9. Every jar or bottle is sanitary before the product goes in. We use proper sterile scrubs and gloves to handle all raw materials, pure essential oils, CO2 extracts, organic herbs, and more to handle and package products.
10. Hand washing is a MUST.

Our foamer facial cleanser bottles are unique in it action. It used air instead of chemicals to make a luscious foaming cleanser. Foamer bottles were deisgned to be used over and over, last longer, and safer for the environment.

The pumps are not designed to be used under running water. Use in the shower is not recommended and the bottles should not be placed or washed under running water. Doing so can allow water to seep down the neck and get into the air chamber located beneath the pump.

Is there liquid in the air chamber?
You should see it inside the chamber below the pump. If so, turn it upside down and pump a few times which should get the water out of the air chamber. If that doesn't work (and if you are brave and not mechanically-challenged) take the pump apart, clean it completely, dry thoroughly and reassemble.

Has there been liquid in the air chamber for a while?
If so, clean as above.

This is normal since we do not use any sodium laureth sulphates or preservatives. The saponified oils will do this at a cooler temperature, especially during shipment in the fall and winter season.

How to correct it:

Cleanser: Please swish the container around a little. Do not shake it vigurously because it can cause air to get into the shaft of the foamer top and cause it not to work.

Cleanser or Shower Gel: You can also let it set in a warm area around 73-75 degrees no higher and it will become liquid again.
